CULTURE NEWS

  • Local memorial artist Janiece Cefalu and young artists Zoe and Zion Goldstein gathered with friends and family at Airline Drive Church of Christ to honor fallen Officer Marc Brock with lifelike tribute paintings. The artwork helps preserve Brock’s legacy as his community stands together in grief.  KSLA

ECONOMY NEWS

  • The U.S. Department of Labor reported that Louisiana had 892 new unemployment claims last week, up from 862 in the previous week while national claims climbed to 208,000 in a Thursday report.  Shreveport Times
  • The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported that Gulf Coast gas prices fell to $2.37 per gallon today from $2.39 last week, plus they remain about 15% lower than the national average.  Shreveport Times

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Realtor.com data shows that in October 2025, median home prices in Caddo Parish dropped slightly from $196,000 to $195,000, with single-family home prices falling 4.1% and condo prices surging — recorded home sales also dropped 6.7% from last year.  Shreveport Times

  • The Shreveport Times is hosting online voting for Week 19 non-football High School Athlete of the Week featuring 15 local student-athletes. Voting is open until Thursday night and the winner will be announced Saturday (recipients receive a backpack and lunch combo).  Shreveport Times
