  • Reinsurers' profits have led to lower reinsurance prices, enabling Allied Trust to lower rates 2.3% overall effective Dec. 20 (with stronger-roof homes dropping over 10%) and Insurance Commissioner Temple will monitor filings to ensure policyholders benefit from further decreases.  The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate

  • Pet owners were advised to bring pets indoors or secure them in dry shelters as a winter storm brought snow and ice on Jan. 24 in north Louisiana, with Humane World for Animals urging extra food and careful antifreeze storage for both indoor animals and outdoor horses.  Shreveport Times
  • Fresenius Medical Care said it is preparing for the upcoming weekend winter storm in Shreveport by educating dialysis patients on emergency readiness and adjusting operating schedules to reduce travel risks.
