EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The National Football Foundation’s McNaughton Chapter named 17 high school scholar-athlete finalists, 10 from Shreveport-Bossier, to compete for $1,000 scholarships at a banquet set for March 4 in Shreveport + seven local coaches were nominated for Coach of the Year with winners to be announced later this month. - ➤ Joshua Robinson, a Haughton native and Louisiana Tech sophomore, was nominated for the prestigious Goldwater Scholarship competition for STEM. He is conducting research in algebraic graph theory under faculty guidance and will be considered for the honor with winners announced March 27. Shreveport Bossier Journal
- ➤ LSU Shreveport launched a new cyber security club to offer all students hands-on experience defending networks and boosting job skills. The club's first challenge is today when a five-member team competes in the Southwest regional qualifier of the CCDC as organizers finalize club bylaws. KTBS

- ➤ State Rep. Danny McCormick plans to file state legislation to study the impact of large-scale water withdrawals from Caddo Lake after a local proposal to restrict water use failed.
