  • The Bossier Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Chamberopoly event tonight in Bossier City (featuring awards for Business of the Year, Business Person of the Year, and Small Business of the Year) as it brings over 500 local leaders together to network and share community success stories.  KSLA

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Caddo Conference Organization and Louisiana Archaeological Society will hold their annual meeting at NSU on March 27—28 to present papers and posters on Caddo archaeology, history and culture — featuring a silent auction, refreshments and traditional performances.  Shreveport Bossier Journal

EDUCATION NEWS

  • A Louisiana law took effect Feb. 1 and required public schools to install a camera with a microphone in every special education classroom so families can request footage if abuse is suspected and districts follow strict privacy rules.  The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Regional law enforcement agencies are launching a free decal program — Friends of the Community — to help first responders identify residents with special needs during emergencies; decals are available at locations like the Caddo Parish substation at 1501 Corporate Drive.  Shreveport Bossier Journal
  • After a parade altercation went viral on social media, Shreveport officials clarified rules for reserving parade spots to ensure fairness for future events in the city.  KSLA
  • The Louisiana Legislative Auditor declared the Bossier Arts Council (BAC) noncompliant for a third year for not submitting required financial reports, and the nonprofit is searching for a new director after its previous head resigned last October.  The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate

  • Airline High School hired former Parkway quarterback Keondre Wudtee as its new quarterback coach on Feb. 10, reuniting him with head coach Justin Scogin who had previously guided his offensive play.
