ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Natural gas production is forecast to rise by 4 billion cubic feet per day over the next two years, mainly from the Haynesville shale region in NW-Louisiana and NE-Texas. Rig counts increased early 2026 to meet higher demand from LNG exports and data centers. KTBS
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Jeff Landry is set to announce plans for up to three new data centers on Monday at 1 p.m. at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium (near downtown), detailing proposals for facilities in Blanchard, west Shreveport, and Benton after months of discussions. KTBS
- ➤ Mayor Tom Arceneaux announced the Summer Internship Program accepting local college students, with applications due April 6 by mail to 505 Travis St., Suite 200 in Shreveport, and the six-week program runs from June 8 through July 17 to build future leaders in local government. KTBS

- ➤ Local girls basketball teams competed in Thursday's LHSAA first-round playoffs at Natchitoches Central; Airline senior Kezyriah Sykes sank two free throws to give the Lady Vikings a late lead before the Lady Chiefs rallied for a win. - ➤ Local girls high school basketball teams advanced in the playoffs + Parkway, Haughton and BTW won at home while Plain Dealing traveled 415 miles with Jakayla Douglas scoring 29 points on Feb. 20. They will face new opponents next round. Shreveport Times
