  • Robinson’s Rescue will host its SSNIP Voucher Day on March 12 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at its clinic on 2515 Line Avenue, where income-qualifying residents from Caddo and Bossier Parish can complete paperwork for free spay/neuter services (surgery will be scheduled later).  Shreveport's Secrets

  • Dutch Bros Coffee is set to open its first drive-thru in Shreveport in early 2026 at 9501 Mansfield Rd — next to ALDI. The shop will offer specialty beverages and fast service to the local community.  Shreveport Times

  • Shreveport Regional Arts Council held a Fly By kickoff at the Capri Theatre on March 3 to reveal the 2026 'VA-BOOM! An epic collision of superheroes & villains!' theme for its Christmas in the Sky fundraiser, which will be held on Dec. 12 at Louisiana Downs Casino & Racetrack.  KSLA

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Shreveport-Bossier residents attended the NWLA Career & Job Fair in Bossier City on March 4, exploring more than 70 job opportunities. Organizers say the event offered practical employment leads for local job seekers.  KSLA

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Caddo Public Schools is hosting a Pre-K Round Up today and tomorrow at local elementary schools so families can register children turning four by Sept. 30 for the 2026–2027 school year + receive free school supplies when accepted by May 31.  Shreveport Times
  • Caddo Superintendent Keith Burton announced that Jana Panos, a C.E. Byrd High School alumna, will become the new principal this spring as she replaces Jerry Badgley following his final year leading the school. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry directed public schools to display donated Ten Commandments posters in classrooms, assuring support for complying schools. Grant Parish superintendent Erin Stokes said all classrooms will have posters by week’s end — the state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education will update policy next week.  The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate
  • Most of Shreveport now has near normal water pressure nearly a week after a 42-inch water main broke Sunday, but west Shreveport still faces issues from trapped air. City crews are installing a temporary line while volunteers distribute bottled water from several sites — residents remain under a boil advisory.  KTBS
