- ➤ Brig. Gen. Joseph Bailey Camp No. 5 will dedicate a marker on March 28 at 1 p.m. at 2327 Highway 175 in Pelican (15 miles south of Mansfield) to honor Union Army units from the April 9, 1864 battle, and the ceremony is open to the public. KTBS
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Lawmakers in Louisiana are reviewing education bills including one to raise teacher pay to exceed the Southern-regional average by 2030 and others that expand teacher leave and student support. - ➤ Apartment asking rents in Shreveport fell 11% since last February, with listings now at a median of $975 from $1,093 based on new data by Zumper. One- and two-bedroom prices followed a downward trend, remaining well below state and national medians. Shreveport Times
