ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ After several pedestrian deaths occurred at dark intersections from July 2025 through March 2026, Shreveport City Council and SPD officials will work with Public Works (Jarvis Morgan) to consider lighting upgrades aimed at enhancing safety. The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in the Gulf Coast region rose by 63 cents since last month to reach $3.11 per gallon on Monday (up from $2.64 the week before), according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Rates remained about 11% below the national average of $3.50. Shreveport Times
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Louisiana’s LA GATOR program, launched last year to help low-income families pay for private education, served nearly 5,600 students while state data show that only 4% of recipients have diagnosed disabilities (private schools are not required to offer special education services). - ➤ LSU head coach Kim Mulkey said assistant coach Daphne Mitchell left to work at Rutgers under former LSU assistant Gary Redus, which leaves two coaching openings to be filled before the NCAA Tournament.
