- ➤ The Centenary Youth Orchestra will perform its free spring concert 'Flash! Bang!' on Monday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Anderson Auditorium, featuring winners of the Concerto and Vocal Competitions along with Centenary Soprano Nina Guerrero; conductor Dan Santelices said the show will honor senior members nearing graduation and include exciting percussion pieces — a promise to engage the audience. - ➤ Shreveport-Bossier's 318 Restaurant Week will run from March 30 to April 5 and feature six special evening dining experiences with local chefs such as Tootie Morrison and Damien 'Chapeaux' Chapman. The week will also offer daily lunch and dinner specials along with events like a bourbon tasting, a barbecue trolley tour, a family fish fry, and a Persian dinner with dancing. - ➤ Rapper Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson was at the Shreveport City Council meeting when officials approved a 30-year lease for Stageworks Louisiana, allowing his firm to change the venue for sports and entertainment events. The lease includes a 15-year renewal and costs $200 a month — his team will handle the facility’s maintenance and operations. Shreveport Times
- ➤ Shreveport firefighters completed a 40-hour Vehicle Extrication training course that taught life-saving techniques for rescuing people trapped in car crashes—captains Evan Bayton and Jesse Davis led the training during the week beginning March 17th—preparing the department for future emergencies. - ➤ Consolidated Water/Sewerage District #1 announced boil advisories for Princeton Road residents due to water line breaks during upgrades to the Village Water System — crews will also close one lane on Princeton Road from Winfield Road to Drake Drive from today until May 23, operating Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Residents must boil water before use and follow all posted signs in the construction zone.
