  • The 2025 Red River Balloon Rally will take place in Bossier City on Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Louisiana Downs Racetrack and will feature balloon glows+tethered rides, food, live music and nightly fireworks.  KTAL

  • Shreveport Police are seeking Christopher Savore in connection with two domestic abuse battery incidents—one in January and one on April 1—with warrants issued on charges of domestic abuse battery and domestic abuse battery with a dangerous weapon.  Shreveport Bossier Journal

CULTURE NEWS

  • Korner Lounge in Shreveport will host an open mic comedy night on May 1 and welcomes comedians of all levels. The venue will open its doors at 7:00 p.m. (performer sign-ups begin then) and offer a happy hour from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  KTAL

SPORTS NEWS

  • The LSUS Pilots ended their season 47-0 after sweeping a doubleheader at Jarvis Christian in Hawkins on Saturday and set a new record for the longest winning streak among four-year colleges. The team will compete in the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament starting Thursday—further, they will host an NAIA Regional from May 12-15.  Shreveport Bossier Journal
  • The Benton Tigers beat Ruston 11-5 and completed their series sweep Saturday with strong pitching by Kade Bryant and key hits by Colton Birdsong — they will face No. 20 Sulphur in the quarterfinal series next week.  The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate
  • Twenty-one high school athletes from the Shreveport-Bossier area have been nominated for the High School Athlete of the Week award—fans can vote online until Thursday night, with the winner announced Saturday in a poll excluding football.  Shreveport Times
  • LSU baseball coach Jay Johnson said he has not named a Sunday starter as the team prepares to face Tennessee—after starting Conner Ware last week instead of Chase Shores, the rotation remains up for grabs.
