- ➤ The Shreveport Sun, one of the city's oldest Black-owned newspapers, ended its 105-year run last June and now has its issues from 1927 in the Black Ethnic Archives at Southern University Shreveport. - ➤ On April 23, the Southern University Board of Supervisors approved a new law school in Shreveport, the first for North Louisiana.
