CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Shreveport Police responded to a child neglect case near Sussex Avenue and Corbett Street on May 6 at 5:30 p.m. after a school bus driver found a naked three-year-old running in a rainstorm and later sheltering on a bus—officers discovered multiple children in very unsanitary conditions at a home where Kaneesha Williams was taken into custody and charged with four counts of Criminal Neglect of Family—and Child and Family Services along with juvenile detectives secured the scene. - ➤ On Thursday afternoon, Shreveport police arrested 19-year-old Zhamya Howard after a domestic dispute outside Peaceful Rest Missionary Baptist Church on St. Vincent Avenue led to a gun being discharged in a car—resulting in a 21-year-old man sustaining a non-life-threatening leg injury and charges of domestic abuse battery. - ➤ Dr. Alexandria Mikaberidze of the Noel Collection showcased the 17th-century manuscript 'La Florida del Inca', copied in 1616 and donated by Judge Gayle Hamilton’s family, during a ceremony at LSUS.
