Shreveport Police responded to a child neglect case near Sussex Avenue and Corbett Street on May 6 at 5:30 p.m. after a school bus driver found a naked three-year-old running in a rainstorm and later sheltering on a bus—officers discovered multiple children in very unsanitary conditions at a home where Kaneesha Williams was taken into custody and charged with four counts of Criminal Neglect of Family—and Child and Family Services along with juvenile detectives secured the scene.

On Thursday afternoon, Shreveport police arrested 19-year-old Zhamya Howard after a domestic dispute outside Peaceful Rest Missionary Baptist Church on St. Vincent Avenue led to a gun being discharged in a car—resulting in a 21-year-old man sustaining a non-life-threatening leg injury and charges of domestic abuse battery.

Dr. Alexandria Mikaberidze of the Noel Collection showcased the 17th-century manuscript 'La Florida del Inca', copied in 1616 and donated by Judge Gayle Hamilton’s family, during a ceremony at LSUS.
