- ➤ Gibsland Bank & Trust Company will merge with Marion State Bank in an acquisition that expands its network into Ouachita and Union Parish with five new branches along the I-20 corridor. - ➤ Louisiana voters rejected Amendment 3 on Saturday, May 16 at C.E. Byrd High School in Shreveport; the measure would have permanently raised teacher and support staff pay by dissolving state education trust funds. - ➤ The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office held a graduation ceremony on May 14 for Class 60 of its Regional Training Academy, where graduates from ten law enforcement agencies completed over 516 hours of training and earned awards for firearms, academics + leadership.
