- ➤ Mudbug Madness drew between 50,000 and 60,000 people last weekend, sparking a boost for local hotels, restaurants and businesses. Tourism officials say the festival’s impact continues to drive job creation and economic growth in the community. KSLA
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Governor Landry, Senate President Cameron Henry, and House Speaker Philip Devillier announced a task force to secure permanent teacher and support staff pay raises without raising taxes. The task force will review the state's Minimum Foundation Program — a funding test— to set a long-term plan with input from educators. KTBS

- ➤ On Friday, May 22, the Shreveport Downtown Development Authority received preliminary approval for taxable bond financing to redevelop the vacant Petroleum Tower into 117 market-rate residential units + retail space; developers hope to break ground in July and finish by December. KSLA
