- ➤ Haughton Police arrested Michele Mary Massara (62) on the 400 block of Union Texas Road after finding 13 dogs in cages under appalling conditions, and she now faces four counts of animal cruelty with a $460,000 bond while officers rescue the dogs for transfer to a shelter. - ➤ The Shreveport Police Department will begin building a 5200 square foot substation at Cedar Grove Park in June to house 60 to 100 officers, offer public services, and preserve the park's softball field by shifting it slightly—SPD chief Wayne Smith said the new design will match the West Shreveport substation.
