The Black art show 'art•ish opened Saturday at RiverView Hall in Shreveport and continues today — local vendors and artists are displaying and selling their work.

Shreveport will hold a news conference at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Bonvenu Bank Community Room at the Beaird Tower, 333 Marshall St., to launch the Block by Block anti-blight initiative developed with local residents and the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative.

The program will begin with a neighborhood sweep on June 21—set to target high-blight areas block by block—and aims to return vacant properties to commerce.

Over 500 protesters gathered in downtown Shreveport on June 14 for the No Kings Nationwide Day of Defiance protest, organized by Indivisible to stand against authoritarianism as a military parade took place in Washington.
