CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Shreveport police responded to a hit-and-run report just after 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17 when a pedestrian was struck by a white Ford Taurus at the intersection of Mackey Lane and Walker Road— the injured person was taken to Ochsner LSU Health with non-life-threatening injuries while the driver fled the scene. - ➤ St. George’s Church in Shreveport held a drive-through Greek food day where customers tasted dishes like Pastitsio, spanakopita, and tiropita while raising funds for church projects. Mary Parker said the event sold 200 sampler platters (200 platters) and 100 salads (100 salads) to support local efforts. KTAL

- ➤ A judge ruled Tuesday that the Caddo Parish School Board must hold a public hearing at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday to allow parents and community members to give feedback on the possible closure of Queensborough Elementary School before voting on the issue later that day + the decision comes after claims that the board did not allow enough time for public input during its April 15 meeting.
