ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On July 3 at 5:26 p.m., a blue Dodge Ram hydroplaned in rainy conditions on I-220 near I-49, struck a guardrail and collided with another car—killing one person—while authorities investigate the multi-vehicle crash.  KSLA
  • A 6-year-old accidentally shot himself in his father’s vehicle in the Raising Cane parking lot—he is in critical condition, according to the Shreveport Police Department.  KSLA

CRIME NEWS

  • A Shreveport woman was arrested on three counts of neglect of family after police responded on June 5th at Village Square Apartments—where they found her three children living in unsanitary conditions with cockroaches on nearly every surface—and she was booked at the city jail.  KTBS
  • A three-vehicle crash on Saturday near North Willow Drive in Bossier Parish killed a Shreveport man and led authorities to arrest a DeSoto Parish woman who showed signs of impairment while turning into a private driveway on charges of vehicular homicide, drug possession and failure to yield.  KTBS
  • Shreveport police investigated the death of a 65-year-old woman found in her car in her home's garage early Sunday morning—officers discovered evidence of a struggle with no signs of forced entry and have not identified a suspect.  KTBS

HEALTH NEWS

  • Inspections from June 15th to 21st found that six restaurants in Caddo Parish had three or more critical health violations such as unsanitary utensils, improper food storage and missing certification. The Louisiana Department of Health said uncorrected issues—if left unaddressed—can lead to food contamination and illness.  Shreveport Times
