- ➤ The Red River Balloon Rally will light up Shreveport-Bossier on July 18–19 with over 20 hot air balloons, live music, fireworks and tethered rides—general admission is $5 and kids five and under get in free. The event at Louisiana Downs will also feature a Balloon Glow and a state ballooning championship with pilots competing to drop a bean bag on a target. KTAL

- ➤ Shreveport police are looking for Ma'Kenzy Taylor, 15, who was last seen Thursday in the 100 block of Egan Street wearing a teal and floral dress—she is 4 feet 9 inches tall, weighs about 140 pounds, has brown eyes and black hair, and officers ask anyone with information to call 318-673-7300 or 318-673-7373. - ➤ Shreveport Police are asking for help locating two missing Powell siblings—12-year-old Tadriana and 6-year-old Tevin—who were last seen between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at a family residence in the 1100 block of Crestmoor Drive; anyone with information should call 911 or 318 673-7300. - ➤ The Shreveport Police Department is asking the public to help find runaway 12 year old Nyshun Gibbs who was last seen at his family's apartment in the 8900 block of Brookwood Drive on July 4 while wearing purple basketball shorts, a red hoodie, and a backpack with a multi-colored splatter design— anyone with information should contact the police or Crime Stoppers. - ➤ BRF’s Digital Media Institute and Northwestern State University announced a new academic partnership that will allow students to begin in DMI’s two-year Advertising & Design program and later transfer to NSU’s four-year Fine Arts degrees. The program will start in Fall and offers dual advising & coordinated academic calendars to guide students as they build real career skills. KTBS
- ➤ Shreve Memorial Library is hosting Family Literacy Night at its Broadmoor Branch on Saturday, July 12 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.—families will take part in games and activities that build early reading skills like talking, singing and drawing. - ➤ The Bridge Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center has announced a ribbon cutting and open house for its new Adult Day Center that will offer respite care to caregivers and social engagement for those with dementia. The pilot program — funded by a grant from the Alzheimer’s Association Center for Dementia Respite Innovation — is the first respite care facility of its kind in the area. KTAL
