- ➤ State Fire Marshal deputies charged 20-year-old Caddo inmate Zechariah Stutts—previously arrested in a 2023 armed robbery—for aggravated arson after he set a fire in an air vent at Caddo Correctional Center in Shreveport in June. KTBS

- ➤ Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux called on state leaders to push forward with the I-49 inner city connector during a meeting on Friday, July 18, after 16 years of stalled planning. He said a draft environmental impact study is expected by the end of the year — and a record decision should come by the end of next year — as the project faces ongoing debates over its route. - ➤ Starting at 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, Knight Street will have its southbound lane closed from just south of South Point Parkway to Flyer Drive for road repairs — drivers must use Dee Street and Flyer Street for detours while the city maintains temporary driveway access, and the project is set to last six weeks.
