  • Shreveport’s C.C. Antoine Park in the Allendale neighborhood is growing—adding slides, spray grounds, an amphitheater, parking and restrooms—to offer more play space; the federal Choice Neighborhoods grant funds the project which will be complete in sixty to ninety days.  The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On August 3, near North Lillie Street, deputies responded when a woman walking on the tracks with a man was struck by a train and taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries—investigators are still reviewing the case.  KSLA
  • A Bossier City man died Saturday when a jet boat incident on Lake O’Pines turned fatal.  KSLA

CRIME NEWS

  • Shreveport police responded on July 28 just after midnight to the 1500 block of Line Avenue when a disabled veteran reported a burglary and vehicle theft after a Black male and White female broke in, stealing clothing, jewelry, and vehicle keys before fleeing in his white 2019 Mercedes-Benz—detectives now are reviewing surveillance footage to identify the suspects.  Shreveport Bossier Journal
  • Shreveport police responded to a wrong-way crash on LA 3132 early Saturday, Aug. 2 at 4:43 a.m. that involved a Jeep Gladiator and a Ford F-250; the Ford driver died and investigators charged the Jeep driver Joshua Cochran with vehicular homicide and first degree vehicular negligent injury while he remains hospitalized and will be booked into jail upon his release.  Shreveport Bossier Journal
