- ➤ Traffic resumed on Jimmie Davis Bridge today after a fatal collision in which police identified 71-year-old Wayland Bearden—who suffered a medical emergency and veered into an 18-wheeler on East 70 Street over the Red River shortly after 11 a.m.—as he was unresponsive in his Chevrolet Cruze, and efforts to save him were unsuccessful. - ➤ Police arrested Joshua Cochran—charged with vehicular homicide and first-degree vehicular negligent injury—after he drove the wrong way on Highway 3121 beneath Interstate 49 early Saturday morning and crashed his Jeep Gladiator into a Ford F-250, killing the truck driver and leaving his passenger with multiple broken bones who remains hospitalized. - ➤ Shreveport Police arrested LaCrystol Johnson after a concerned citizen called about her 2-year-old child left alone in a dangerously hot, turned-off car at Dollar Tree on 6730 Pines Road around 10:30 a.m.—the toddler was found strapped in a car seat and sweating, prompting officers to act swiftly.
