CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police arrested two 19-year-old men—Cadarius Southall and Dandricus Kennedy—on August 8 after a 3:31 a.m. call reported shots fired at a home on 3212 Gorton Road where officers found shell casings and recovered a stolen red Kia Soul, and the men now face charges including illegal use of a weapon, burglary, theft, and armed robbery. - ➤ On August 6, Shreveport police arrested Robert Macconnell—57—at Petro Travel Center on W. Bert Kouns Industrial Loop after witnesses alleged he hit two female store clerks in the face and resisted arrest; he was booked on multiple charges including simple battery, theft, trespassing, resisting arrest, and disturbing the peace. - ➤ A Caddo Parish jury returned a guilty verdict against Andre Deshun Gladney for fatally shooting his childhood friend Taurean Coleman at Anderson Island Park in 2022 after rejecting his self-defense claim—Gladney will return to court for sentencing on August 28. KTAL
- ➤ Shreveport police arrested a man suspected of intentionally setting a fire at 2512 Highland Avenue on August 3rd - he was found with a stolen firearm and is now booked on charges of aggravated arson and possession of a stolen firearm. KTAL

- ➤ On July 7, Shreveport Police Department discussed a new program with Caddo Parish Schools to support children exposed to domestic violence—officers will use confidential forms during domestic incidents to alert educators to stressors affecting behavior. Officials said the initiative aims to improve inter-agency communication and could serve as a model for other communities. KTAL
