- ➤ Shreveport police arrested Dion Randle, 53, for second-degree homicide on Aug. 3 when officers responded to a shooting on Dalzell Street that left a woman dead — investigators are seeking more information. KTAL

- ➤ Booker T. Washington High School hosts a special presentation today at 9 a.m. in its auditorium at 2104 Milam St as the Guitar Center Foundation donates $25,000 in new musical instruments while district and school leaders announce that the gift will boost the band program. KTAL

- ➤ Shreveport city leaders approved a resolution asking the Louisiana Supreme Court to change a 17-page domestic abuse protective order form to a simpler four-page version—officials say this move will make it easier for victims to seek help. Councilwoman Tabatha Taylor, councilman Jim Taliaferro, and other local officials believe the change will lower barriers for those in need. KTAL
- ➤ Public transportation provider SporTran launched the ‘Where’s My Bus?’ app — it offers riders real-time GPS tracking, accurate arrival times, trip planning and instant service alerts. A press conference and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Tuesday, September 2 at 2:00 p.m. at the SporTran Intermodal Terminal with remarks from company leaders and Mayor Tom Arceneaux, and the app will be available for download on Sunday, August 31.
