- ➤ The free Highland Jazz and Blues Festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 13 at Columbia Park in Shreveport’s Historic Highland Neighborhood. Families will enjoy three music stages, a children’s art area, a pet-friendly zone, over 60 vendors, and headliner Kenny Neal with his seven-piece band — a free shuttle runs from Mall St. Vincent during the day. - ➤ Officials reported that Northwood High School and Donnie Bickham Middle School were closed Friday due to a power outage. SWEPCO expected power restoration by 6 p.m.—buses transported students and parents were advised to pick up their children. KTBS

- ➤ LSUS baseball’s perfect record of 59-0 was honored with a concrete home plate unveiled as part of the Northwest Louisiana Walk of Stars in downtown Shreveport on Thursday — a tribute to the Pilots' historic season.
