- ➤ The Volunteer Youth Justice Program and CASA will host the 8th annual Superhero Run—a 5K, 10K, and fun run—in support of CASA’s mission to secure safe and permanent homes for children who have been abused or neglected. Organizers say families will enjoy bounce houses, snow cones, treats, and superhero appearances with support from Ochsner LSU Health. KTAL
- ➤ Baton Rouge-based nonprofit Fathers on a Mission is launching in Shreveport with a free Fatherhood Informational Session at Bilberry Park today from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.—the event will provide lunch, raffles and giveaways to support local fathers. KTAL

- ➤ VRC Metal Systems announced it will build a $1.56 million facility at Barksdale Air Force Base to maintain B-52 aircraft and ground equipment, and the project will create 46 jobs including 21 direct roles. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Louisiana law allows people 18 or older to open carry firearms when legally eligible, with restrictions on locations such as schools, government buildings, and bars serving alcohol — local rules may add further limits. - ➤ Caddo Commissioner Ken Epperson plans to push for a state law change that would allow speed cameras and license plate readers—tools he says can curb reckless driving and help solve crimes, as shown by a video of a speeding driver losing control on Calderwood and Greenwood Road.
