EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Caddo Magnet High School’s JROTC Academic Team placed fourth in the National Leadership and Academic Bowl in Washington, D.C. after advancing through online qualifiers—cadets Caleb McDaniel, Michael Nix, Kate Kearney, and Ayan Bath earned certificates from Lt. - ➤ Caddo Parish Schools approved a $500K project to fix bathrooms that have troubled students and parents for years. Construction will roll out in phases this school year—starting with schools that received the most complaints, and new floors, partitions, and plumbing will be installed to keep the rooms odor free by spring. - ➤ The Bossier Police Jury condemned over 10 properties last week—this included 18 overgrown lots owned by Shams Investment Inc.—to fight blight and protect public health and safety. - ➤ In Week 5 of Shreveport-Bossier high school football, Airline’s Kenny Darby caught 14 passes for 170 yards and rushed for 77 yards while scoring two touchdowns as his team lost 66-56 to Captain Shreve.
