- ➤ Capri Theater will host three events this October for the spooky season. - ➤ On October 9, Parish President Ernel Jones declared a burn-ban in DeSoto Parish due to a rainfall shortage, and he said violators would face heavy fines. The ban remains in place until further notice. KTAL
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Families on Dawson Road have long been affected by flooding during storms. At a special session on Thursday, Caddo Parish commissioners proposed appropriating $1.2 million from the Public Works Road Fund to upgrade drainage, repair the road, and extend it to Resilient Way—parish engineers said design work will begin this year and construction will follow once the plan is finalized.
