- ➤ On Saturday, the Krewe of Gemini held its Fall Flambeaux in Bossier City+ the event featured a gumbo contest with 18 entries in seafood, non-seafood, lagniappe and people's choice categories and previewed hand-painted floats to kick off Mardi Gras festivities led by Grand Marshal Chef Niema DiGrazia. - ➤ Bossier Parish Community College will host Cyber Week from October 20 to 24 at its main campus in Bossier City — the events will include workshops, demonstrations and networking opportunities that showcase technology careers and cybersecurity education. KTAL

- ➤ Bossier quarterback Montrevell Lewis became the first Shreveport-area player in 17 years to record 1,000 passing and 1,000 rushing yards in a season during Friday’s game against Northwood — the sophomore reached the milestone with a 40-yard pass and now has 1,063 passing and 1,140 rushing yards. - ➤ Loyola quarterback Bryce Restovich earned the SBC Advocate/318preps Player of the Week 6 honor after completing 17-of-19 passes for 318 yards and six touchdowns at Bossier—he beat six other candidates and received a custom hoodie along with a spot on the 2025 Player of the Year ballot. - ➤ Prep football Week 7 featured a host of dramatic finishes as Calvary posted a 48-0 shutout in District 1-2A with key turnovers — Natchitoches Central edged Byrd 35-31 in the final minute and Airline snapped a three-game skid with a 36-28 win after a fourth-quarter surge. Other games delivered decisive wins for teams including Captain Shreve, Parkway, Minden, North DeSoto, Homer, D'Arbonne Woods, Arcadia, Logansport, Mansfield and Ringgold as the season heats up.
