- ➤ On Veterans Day, many restaurants in Louisiana will offer free meals and discounts for veterans-active duty soldiers as a way to honor their service. - ➤ Brookshire Grocery announced on November 3 that it will donate $500,000 to local food banks (Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma) to help families facing food insecurity during the government shutdown and SNAP pause.
