EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ U.S. News & World Report has released the ranking for the 11 best middle schools in Louisiana for 2026—schools were rated on math and reading scores from over 100,000 institutions. Caddo Parish Middle Magnet School in Shreveport came in second while Haynes Academy School for Advanced Studies in Metairie ranked first. Shreveport Times
- ➤ Job Corps in Shreveport has paused community projects with Caddo Parish because its training center now has only 119 students of a 285-student capacity. Caddo officials and Job Corps will revisit the partnership in early 2026 and plan to match students with parish projects like painting fire halls and rebuilding playgrounds. KTBS
