- ➤ SporTran is teaming up with Healthy Blue and Caddo Parish Schools to launch its annual Stuff the Bus 2025 toy drive that will support more than 1,200 students facing homelessness and housing instability. A press conference is scheduled for November 19 at 9:30 a.m. at the SporTran Intermodal Terminal — where city officials and community partners will outline key stops at Walmart, churches, and other events. - ➤ The Volunteers for Youth Justice CASA Program is asking community members for support in sponsoring wish lists from over 300 foster children in Caddo and Bossier parishes, as about 50 lists still need sponsors before gifts are distributed on Dec. 13. Donations, including money and supplies, are accepted until Dec. 5 (to help ensure every child feels valued this Christmas). KTBS

- ➤ LSU Shreveport hosted its annual Pilot Pitch competition on Friday where student entrepreneurs Paige Schuldt and Max Haubrich received $3,000 and six months of support for their family-focused business ideas—Schuldt with The Nurture Nook, a portable breastfeeding space, and Haubrich with SurPrize!, a boutique toy store offering interactive children’s birthday parties. - ➤ Officer Marc Brock, 25, was fatally shot on Friday while serving a search warrant on North Pine Street in Vivian — he was shot through a door by Nicholas Alexander, 58, who was wanted for cyber stalking — prompting a candlelight vigil held Saturday and another scheduled for today at 6 p.m. at the North Caddo football field.
