ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Shreveport firefighters responded at 9:15 a.m. November 22 to a structure fire at the Lakeside Recreational Center golf course on Milam Street and controlled the blaze by 9:29 a.m.—recreational activities were paused for safety checks and no injuries were reported while investigators probe the accidental cause.  KTAL

CRIME NEWS

  • On Saturday, hundreds gathered in Vivian to honor police officer Marc Brock—who was killed on Nov 14 when he was allegedly shot through a door during a search warrant—with a funeral procession that wound through Vivian to Shreveport while Gov. Landry's office ordered flags lowered to half-staff until sundown on Nov 22.  KTBS

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The funeral procession for Vivian officer Marc Brock began a little after 10 a.m. on Nov. 22—marking the start of his final farewell.  KSLA

SPORTS NEWS

  • LSU won against Western Kentucky with a score of 13 to 10 but the offense struggled — turnovers and fumbles plagued the play and key players were sidelined by injuries. The poor offensive showing raises concerns as the team prepares to face Oklahoma next weekend.  The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate
  • Parkway Panthers beat Hahnville 37—31 in overtime after a strong defensive stand and key scoring drives pushed the team into the quarterfinals. They will host Ouachita at home in their next game.  The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate
  • Last Friday, four-star quarterback commit Peyton Houston led his Evangel Eagles to the playoff quarterfinals and commented on LSU's coaching search following Brian Kelly’s firing — saying he is committed to LSU and trusts God’s plan — as he continues recruiting for the team.  The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate
