- ➤ Last week, Caddo Parish Commissioners honored Trey and Jasmine Moore of the Community Renewal Friendship House in Cedar Grove with a resolution for serving 25 blocks and hundreds of kids—highlighting their role in transforming the neighborhood. - ➤ The 'Santa Calls You Downtown' campaign brings artificial snow to downtown locations for families today from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.—offering a winter wonderland experience in Shreveport. KSLA
- ➤ The Vampyre Court of Shreveport is collecting donations for winter coats, food, and other essentials to help local residents during the cold season — donors are entered into a raffle to win tattoos. KSLA

- ➤ SWEPCO is building a new service center in west Shreveport that will open in 2027 to consolidate operations and serve customers faster—its upgraded facility will feature expanded garage space, larger laydown yards, a storm restoration center, and proximity to its linemen training school while construction is underway and the current Union Street center remains in use. - ➤ Weaver's Christmas Tree Farm in Shreveport is showing a strong demand for real trees as the farmer noted this is his best crop in years—he said the trend is returning even after many years of popularity with artificial trees. The farm is open weekdays from 2 to 5 p.m.—Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.—Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is closed on Thanksgiving and on days of steady rain. KTBS
- ➤ Shreveport Regional Airport experienced heavy passenger traffic as travelers arrived for Thanksgiving today, with flights running at 80—85% capacity. Airport officials reported an 18% rise in passenger volume from last year—ticket prices have stayed competitive due to additional seats added throughout the year. KSLA
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Centenary men’s and women’s basketball teams will play LeTourneau in Longview next Tuesday—men tip off at 5:30 and women start at 7:30—as the game marks their closest contest to home this season after recent nonconference losses. Shreveport Bossier Journal
- ➤ Bosser Parish Community College won a game at the Decari Markray Classic Tuesday afternoon with a 77 to 59 finish over Tribulation Prep — freshman Drew Cooper scored 21 while four players reached double-digit points. - ➤ At the Flyer Invitational, top local girls soccer teams played four games each—Benton won three including an 8-0 win over Sterlington while Byrd and Loyola had mixed results across wins, losses and ties.
