  • Local public safety agencies are hosting holiday donation drives across town. Operation Santa Claus by Fire and Police accepts new, unwrapped toys until Dec. 15 while the Sheriff's Safety Town collects gently used clothing and hygiene items until Dec. 19 and Haughton Police and City Marshal offices gather additional donations through Dec. 18.  The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Centenary College celebrated its bicentennial at the Gold Dome with a drone show, art display, and new choir commission while former Harlem Globetrotter Herb Lang hosted the event and helped raise $51 million for science advancement and Mickle Hall renovations.  KTBS

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Louisiana anglers can help scientists by volunteering earbone samples from their catch, a practice used by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to determine fish ages (otoliths) and assess stock health.  The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate
