- ➤ North Louisiana workers will receive a share of $240M in bonuses after Fibrebond sold to Eaton, with about 540 employees set to get payments over five years (bonus amounts vary by service). Company founder Graham Walker is set to step down by the end of 2025. Shreveport Times

- ➤ Shreve Memorial Library shared its staff’s favorite books, movies, TV shows, and music to celebrate 2025 and highlight a year of cultural moments. The survey was compiled on Dec. 27 at the library to invite locals to explore a diverse range of interests. Shreveport Times
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Independence Bowl Foundation announced that 29 teachers across Caddo, Bossier, DeSoto, Red River and Webster parishes will each receive $1,000 this month along with I-Bowl tickets and a Donors Choose certificate for classroom projects. - ➤ The Bossier Parish District Attorney's Office will offer U.S. Supreme Court tours during Washington D.C. Mardi Gras. Residents can choose a tour on Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. or Jan. 30 at 1 p.m. as the program, coordinated with the Bossier Chamber of Commerce, will provide insights on court history and procedures. - ➤ The Shreveport Times is holding an online vote for its Week 17 High School Athlete of the Week for non-football sports, featuring 15 nominees from schools like Benton, Loyola, Magnet, Parkway, Shreve, Haynesville & Ruston; votes are accepted online through Thursday, with the winner to be announced Saturday. - ➤ Captain Shreve soccer player Ryleigh Cram won the Shreveport Times Athlete of the Week 16 poll on Dec. 27 (she received 24,704 votes, or 62% of nearly 40,000). She beat 14 high school athletes from North Louisiana in a poll hosted by local sponsors including Raising Cane’s. Shreveport Times
