- ➤ Architect Christopher Coe — returning after over 30 years away — is driving local revitalization by reworking the old Joe D. Waggoner building into a state office building on Line Avenue. - ➤ Tuesday morning, a fire destroyed the home of Shreveport Police lieutenant Daniel Denby and his wife, eliminating all belongings and claiming 13 pets (3 dogs and 10 cats) from the residence. The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate

- ➤ Metalbug Music Fest will be held on May 2 from 10 a.m. to 10:59 p.m. at Bayou Thunder, 1910 Market Street as 16 bands stage a heavy metal event featuring local favorites and national headliner Powerman5000. Attendees can enjoy live snake interactions & boiled crawfish, & multiple food trucks. KSLA
- ➤ Local restaurants in Shreveport and Bossier will serve traditional New Year's Day meals featuring black eyed peas, cabbage, and pork on Jan. 1 to bring good luck for 2026. - ➤ The Bossier Parish Police Jury began constructing an emergency-use boat launch at 900 Parks Road (Benton) on Dec. 29 to boost rapid water access for first responders during emergencies.
